SINGING AS UNTO THE LORD

SINGING AS UNTO THE LORD

I am quite sure that majority of us would agree with me that singing is a very vital aspect of worship unto God. God created the morning stars to sing continually before Him, but unfortunately they failed. God longs once again for the harmony that once rang through the Heavenly terrain to flow through the mouths of His pre-destinated saints.  In this blog post I will love to address in particular the worship leaders, choristers or anyone who loves gospel music. There must be a special hint to your worship that differentiates it from the normal secular or worldly music.
When we sing, we must take note of what God desires in music. It isn’t all about the harmony or sweetness of the song to the ear that makes the song acceptable in God’s ears. We must serve God the best delicacy knowing that He feeds on our praises. Let’s sit back and learn as the Lord teaches us the recipe for His favorite food.
·         The song must ascribe glory to God.
·         The lyrics of the song must center on God.
·         Check the origin of the song: The artiste who sang the song must be a true believer. The circumstance surrounding the production of the song also matters a lot.
·         There must be evidence of the Holy Spirit’s inspiration in the song.
·         Do not offer to God that which costs you nothing.

A song that God accepts is that which spring up from a humble and pure heart. It isn’t necessarily the song that is trending or popular. You don’t have to have an ‘angelic’ voice either.

A SONG OF WORSHIP MUST SPRING FROM THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE WITHIN ONE

Hymnody is sweet with the longing after God, the God whom, while the singer seeks, he knows he has already found. – A W Tozer.

Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas to you all! It's PeculiarPraise again, but this time in my Miss Santa Claus mode. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're enjoying the yuletide season to the fullest.  If you, like me, have been scouting high and low for some cosy Christian novels to wrap up this year, then you have come to the right stop.  I'm going to highlight twelve Christmas fiction books, one for the twelve days of Christmas. Let's go! 1. The Shoe Box Author: Francine Rivers Genre: Christmas children's fiction Blurb: A beloved holiday classic and a poignant story about the simple yet inspiring faith of a child. This tender Christmas novella tells the story of Timmy O’Neil, a foster child who arrives at his new home with a very mysterious shoe box. At first glance, it’s nothing special―just an ordinary box with a red lid and the words Running Shoes printed on the side. But Timmy carries it with him wherever he goes, and when people ask him what’s inside, h...

APRIL'S FOOL! NOT SO COOL...

Hey pal! What's up? And how have you been doing? Seriously, I know this blog has been so dry for a while now.  How ironic when I think back on how my new year resolution included me being consistent with blogging and sharing real life applications with my fans and friends.  Well, I guess that's the whole bane of resolutions. Use them for the first month, and then dump them into the basement of your life. Urgh! But no, sweet HS* won't let me rest. He's been nagging at me for a while now to write.  Even as I type out this blogpost, my phone's battery is low, and it's the witching hour (midnight, in case you're wondering). But I know He who gave me this assignment will help me. Amen. Oh, by the way, Happy New Month! April's fool mood in the air? Have you already been pranked? Have you pranked someone?  Hmmm... Is it even biblical to prank someone as a child of God? Think twice.  I'm guilty too, I'll admit.  I vividly recall how, years ag...
