THE MYSTERY OF SONGS: SINGING SPIRITUAL SONGS TO THE LORD

Sing from the heart to God |
I know that God delights in music because according to scripture, His most perfect creature (before he was marred by sin) was Lucifer who was a musical being. I ask myself this question what is it in songs that moves God so much? We, human beings have been created to delight the soul of our creator. So, I guess we are mandated to sing. But most times we sing to the wrong person and even for the wrong reasons.
As a person, I'm so into songs. Before I got born again, we had neighbors that loved to play loud, worldly music (Two members of that family eventually got born again so that has drastically reduced now. Thanks be to God). But for some strange reason, which I now discern as God calling me, I never fancied the songs. The noise irritated me, the words were 90% of the time meaningless, and even sometimes, what supposed to be sweet harmonious music turned out to be a big jumble of off-key and off-beat repetitions. I used to wonder what used to excite the people listening and dancing to those songs. Even then I made up my mind never ever to like those kinds of music. When I eventually met Jesus and He put His Holy Spirit in me, the dislike I had for such songs intensified to loathing. I remember a particular occasion: we had a talent show in my secondary school then and a Disc Jockey was playing the worldly music and the whole hall was reverberating with the echo of students singing along with the artiste while some were even showcasing their talent as dancing to such worldly music. I felt so nauseated that I knew if I stayed any longer I would either pass out or vomit.  I could not stand it anymore and so I hurriedly left the area. No one but I and the Holy spirit  knew and understood what happened to me on that fateful day. I went to an empty class to cry to God to revive the love for the true worship of Him in the hearts of men.
Songs are mysterious. They have a way of connecting all realms together.
THE PHYSICAL REALM
THE SPIRITUAL REALM
THE BRIDGE WHICH IS THE SOUL
The kingdom of darkness knows this and are using this medium to transmit all sorts of demons into blinded lives:  the songs in the dark realm, though they may stir up the sensual desires of our fallen flesh, trigger the operation of demonic spirits in people. We, as agents of light, must counteract their evil operations by ushering in the Holy Spirit of God through our spiritual songs.
Ephesians 5:19 says, " Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."
Let us be proud to sing spiritual songs (and I mean songs inspired by the Holy spirit coz not every  song under the tag 'gospel music' actually pleases God). Make it your phone's ring tone. Hum it while you work. Sing it out loud in your bathroom. Play the music in your home stereo, in your car, during celebrations like birthdays, weddings, anniversaries e.t.c. Let the high praises of God ring aloud in your mouth. It's a mystery. There is a power in it; make it work for you and make God happy.

  1. Singing gospel songs isn't so easy particularly when one is surrounded by unbelievers. May God make me proud to sing His praise publicly.

APRIL'S FOOL! NOT SO COOL...

Hey pal! What's up? And how have you been doing? Seriously, I know this blog has been so dry for a while now.  How ironic when I think back on how my new year resolution included me being consistent with blogging and sharing real life applications with my fans and friends.  Well, I guess that's the whole bane of resolutions. Use them for the first month, and then dump them into the basement of your life. Urgh! But no, sweet HS* won't let me rest. He's been nagging at me for a while now to write.  Even as I type out this blogpost, my phone's battery is low, and it's the witching hour (midnight, in case you're wondering). But I know He who gave me this assignment will help me. Amen. Oh, by the way, Happy New Month! April's fool mood in the air? Have you already been pranked? Have you pranked someone?  Hmmm... Is it even biblical to prank someone as a child of God? Think twice.  I'm guilty too, I'll admit.  I vividly recall how, years ag...

Nigerian Fiction Book Review: Teleporter

Hello, dear friend!  I come again bringing good tidings. I'm so excited to bring today's book to you, because OMG, it's so epic. This is a must-read for everyone, I tell you.  TITLE Teleporter A glimpse of the title alone will pique your curiosity.  According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Teleportation is in fiction: instantaneous travel between two locations without crossing the intervening space Teleporter gives off vibes that will intrigue anybody. Of course, if you are quite familiar with European superhero movies and comics like Superman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman, then the concept of teleporting won't be strange to you.  However, it's rare to see a Nigerian story that includes mystical or science fiction concepts as this book did.  Before we move further, I'd like to invite the author herself in person of Muna Fausta to share with us her experience of why and how she wrote Teleporter. Over to you, Muna: ••• WHAT INSPIRED TELEPORTER? So I...
